From Weather Girl to MTV to Revlon Model to Actress, Daisy Fuentes is now a household name with viewers around the world. Born in Havana but raised in Madrid until her parents emigrated to New Jersey, Fuentes is fluent in both Spanish and English. Currently hosting her second season of "America's Funniest Home Videos" on ABC, Fuentes is passionate about backgammon, cooking and keeping quiet on her personal life.
The first crossover VJ to appear on both the Spanish language MTV Latino and the original MTV, Fuentes got her start in 1986 while studying communications and journalism at Bergen Community College. After being selected as a news reporter for the evening news on WXTV Channel 41 at age 19, Fuentes quickly made her mark in the Latino television community. In January 1988, Daisy assumed a position with WNJU Channel 47 before MTV hired her to host "MTV Internacional." While at MTV, Fuentes also held a recurring role one the ABC daytime drama, "Loving". Her additional television credits include appearances on "Dream On," "Cybill" and most recently, "The Larry Sanders Show."
Born on November 17th, this fiery Scorpio is addicted to TV: both in front of the camera and on the couch. Daisy is a big fan of cheesy 80's TV shows: Fantasy Island and Love Boat keep her glued to the tube. But more than anything, Daisy loves the beach. Planning to move to Miami, the sun and her family keeps the spicy city her number one travel destination.
Daisy has appeared on multiple covers of the Spanish language version of Cosmopolitan, Vandidades, and Harper's Bazaar. She has also had covers for Eres, Shape, Fitness and Latina. Like Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Halle Berry, she holds a worldwide multi-year contract to represent Revlon's cosmetic lines. Daisy also holds endorsements with Pantene, M&Ms and American Express.
Daisy had a featured role with in the 1996 Miramax film, Curdled, starring Stephen Baldwin and recently completed production on an exercise video with Warnervision's home video. She is featured in two Landmark calendars, 1996 and 1997.
In 1997 and 98, Daisy hosted "The ALMA Awards" with Jimmy Smits and "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve '98" with her "America's Funniest Home Videos" co-host, John Fugelsang. She also co-hosted "The 1998 World Music Awards." She has hosted Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and the Miss Universe pageants.
With all of her accomplishments and skills, Daisy still claims she doesn't stress about her career. Being "Happy in the Heart" is all that really matters according to her. But who keeps her heart happy? Daisy won't say: she's been married once and romantically linked to Luis Miguel, but when asked about them, she says a consistent, "No Comment." However she is very close with her family and her dog named Noodles.
